To work with Indigenous Australians you need:

• Knowledge of Indigenous history & culture
• Self-awareness, particularly of your culture and its similarities and differences to Indigenous culture
• Relationships with Indigenous people
• Awareness of current social situation
• Practical tips for working with Indigenous people
• Organisational policies and procedures appropriate for working with Indigenous people
• Practice skills that bring it all together in the way you work.

This is a one and a half hour introductory self-study module.   It can give you a start on:

• Knowledge of Indigenous history & culture
• Self-awareness, particularly of your culture and its similarities and differences to Indigenous culture
• Awareness of current social situation
• Practical tips for working with Indigenous people
• A starting point for appropriate organisational policies and procedures.

The self-study module cannot give relationships with Indigenous people nor can it teach practice skills. 

• You need to build relationships with Indigenous people and practice your skills over time.
